Description

SPECTRUM and the Queer Night Out Waterloo Region are pleased to partner with Apollo Cinema to present the Rainbow Film Club! Join us each month for a classic of queer cinema. You can also join SPECTRUM and the QNO Waterloo Region for a Queer Night Out discussion group in the week following each screening to discuss the film.

The story of two coalitions -- ACT UP and TAG (Treatment Action Group) -- whose activism and innovation turned AIDS from a death sentence into a manageable condition. First-time director David France culls from a huge amount of never-before-seen archival footage — most of it shot by the protestors themselves (31 videographers are credited) — to create not just an historical document, but an intimate and visceral recreation of the period through the very personal stories of some of ACT UP and TAG’s leading participants.

Come out to show your support for people living with HIV in Waterloo Region.
